News: Amber Hill Wins World Bronze

Amber Hill has become British Shooting’s first medallist at the Gabala World Cup 2015 after winning bronze.

The British athlete shot a perfect 16 to beat Poland’s Aleksandra Jarmolinska in the bronze medal match.

The young shooter continues her success in Azerbaijan after she won gold in the European Games earlier this year in Baku.

The European Games Champion qualified for the semi-finals after a great performance with 73 shots. In the semi-final stage Hill scored 13 hits to finish fourth and advance to face Jarmolinska in the bronze medal match.

The youngster showed true professionalism to go on and perform after she was forced to miss her start time because of a nose bleed.

After the result, Hill spoke to British Shooting and said: “To come away with a bronze medal was more than I could have asked for.

“To win two medals in a matter of a couple of months is an amazing feeling and it really feels that my hard work has paid off.

“I’ve got a great support team around me which is helping me get to that point.”
