Jordan Hugill has signed a contract extension that will tie him to Preston North End until the end of the 2017/18 season.
His contract was due to expire at the end of this season but he has added an extra two years to his current deal.
The striker has been at the club since June 2014 after leaving Port Vale where he won the Young Player of the Year award.
This season the 23 year old has made six appearances and scored two goals. Both of the goals came in the Capital One Cup, a penalty against Crewe and a late equaliser against Bournemouth.
Last season he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out of action for most of last season. He eventually recovered and went on loan to Hartlepool United where he scored the goal that kept them in the Football League.
Hugill told PNE media: “I’m absolutely buzzing to get a new contract and I can get my head down now for the next few years and see where I go from there.”
He added: “I can just concentrate on my game now and try and repay the faith the manager has shown in me.”
