Amber Hill has won gold at the Shotgun World Cup Final in Nicosia after a phenomenal performance.
The British shooter shot an impressive 15/16 in the semi-final stage to finish joint top of the leaderboard and progress to the gold medal match against Sutiya Jiewchaloemmit.
In the final Amber matched her score in the previous round with another 15/16 to beat the Thai who shot 13/16.
The win is a really impressive achievement as Amber faced some of the best skeet shooters in the world including world no 1, Morgan Craft.
This latest success caps off an impressive year for Amber as she won gold at the European Games in Baku and a bronze medal at the Gabala World Cup too.
After winning the medal she said: “To come away with a gold is an amazing end to the year and I couldn’t have asked for a lot more. It has been an amazing year.”
“To qualify for the World Cup Final is a big achievement for me in itself. To come away with a gold medal from it, I couldn’t have ended the season any better.”
“It’s a really nice feeling to know that I’m competing against the best skeet shooters in the world and I’m on track to where I want to be next year at Rio.”
“If at Rio I go all the way to the medals and go for gold but I’m really just looking forward to whole experience of Rio and can’t wait to get out there.”
