Steve Scott has won gold at the Shotgun World Cup Final after an impressive performance. Tim Kneale was also in action for Team GB in Nicosia
Steve shot a remarkable 29/30 in the semi-finals to progress to the gold medal match. In the final he was composed to shoot 27/30 to beat the Qiang Pan who shot 25/30.
Tim Kneale also qualified for the next round as he shot 28/30 to qualify for the bronze medal match. He shot a very good 27/30 but unfortunately was no match for Asab Mohd who shot a perfect 30/30.
Despite not winning a medal in Nicosia, Tim has been in fine form this year as he won an individual silver and team gold in Lonato earlier this year.
Steve Scott said: “Watching Amber win hers and coming back realising it’s possible to win gold and then I’m out with a gold medal. I’m really, really pleased.”
“This was my first competition since winning the quota place at Gabala so I’m really pleased to come away and nail the gold.”
“We’re the only double trap team to qualify for every final in an Olympic cycle year.”
