A last minute own goal completed a PNE comeback as they beat Rotherham United 2-1 at Deepdale.
The Millers took the lead in the first half when Tony Andreu headed the ball into the bottom corner past Sam Johnstone.
Eoin Doyle equalised from close range in the second half after Paul Huntington steered a free-kick by Paul Gallagher into his path.
The match appeared to heading for a draw until Jonson Clarke-Harris accidentally diverted a long throw-in by Marnick Vermijl into his own net in the dying moments of the game to give North End the lead.
Simon Grayson made two changes to the side that beat Hull with Johnstone and Doyle coming in to replace Jordan Pickford and Will Keane who returned to their parent clubs.
Rotherham made one change with new loan signing, Shay Facey coming in for Frazer Richardson.
Early in the game Danny Ward rounded Johnstone and shot on goal but it was superbly cleared off the line by Bailey Wright.
After Rotherham took the lead, PNE nearly scored straight away through Joe Garner whose shot in the box was blocked by Kirk Broadfoot.
The Lilywhites also had a chance blocked off line when Gallagher crossed the ball into Garner who headed towards goal.
The win today means that PNE move up to 15th in the Championship table.
Simon Grayson said: “We got a reaction from the players after the break and changed the system.
“We were due a late goal, we kept going and we’ll take the own goal.”
He also confirmed that Adam Reach’s loan will be extended until the end of the season.
