News: Mac Sisters Break British Records

Jennifer and Seonaid McIntosh have set new British records in the Senior and Junior 50m Three Position rifle events respectively.

They achieved this feat at the Isle of Man Easter Shooting Festival with Jennifer shooting well to achieve a score of 455.6 in the Three Position rifle for the Senior British record.

Her sister was not far behind with a score of 446.6 to secure second place in the event and the new Junior British record.

Jennifer also won the 50m Prone Rifle event at the Isle of Man with Seonaid also in second place for the event.

Adding to their success, the sisters also teamed up to win gold in the rifle pairs event.

Speaking to British Shooting, Jennifer McIntosh, said: “Yeah it’s really good (to set a British record) particularly early on in the season, it is good to know that everything is going well and that training has been working.

“It wasn’t a huge amount on the record but still it’s good to keep pushing forward. To be shooting this well at this well is really reassuring.

“She (Seonaid) is happy with it. I think it was quite a lot on the record so she seems pretty happy.”
